Abstract
Elastic reservations are useful for dynamic QoS applications. Service providers (SPs) that offer elastic services with a guaranteed grade of service (GoS) could be interested in knowing the quantitative influence of the agreed GoS in the evaluation of the mean reserved bandwidth (MRB). SPs also want to maximize the use of their resources, however, to guarantee a GoS could require not using as much resources as SPs desire. This letter analyzes the impact of the GoS in the evaluation of the MRB, for elastic classes of service in two wired scenarios.
