Abstract
Presents a method of painless determination of tissue metabolic rate at a steady temperature field. On the assumption that the relationship T(x) between the temperature T of the inner body at different positions and the positions x is a quadratic equation, the surface temperature of the human body is obtained by infrared thermography. We deduced the relationship between the apparent conductivity and different positions according to a classical bio-heat transfer function. Then we calculated the tissue metabolic rate at the corresponding position keeping the temperature field of the inner body stable, and verified this method by experiment and calculation.
