Abstract :
In paper 8292P [Proc. IEE, 1979, 126, (5), pp. 421-425] by V. Subrahmanyam and D. Subbarayudu, the authors use the term ´state vector´ for the current is defined by eqn. 1 of the paper. It is more correct to describe this term as a ´space vector´. The latter is properly related to the physical meaning of the term and is a direct translation of the Hungarian used originally by Kovacs and Racz1, and of the German used by Stepina. The term ´state´, as used in state vector and state variable, has another precise mathematical meaning.
