Abstract
The moment method is applied in the spectral domain to yield a matrix eigenvalue equation for producing ω-β diagrams for doped, metallic electromagnetic crystal structures (ECS). Computed results are obtained for a wire mesh lattice containing a superlattice of wire cut defects. Results show the emergence of a very narrow passband within the bandgap of the undoped structure. This new passband is tunable, and indicates the potential for smart skin structures made using ECSs.
