Abstract :
We have investigated the trade-offs between speed, capacity and restorability for various mesh restoration methods. The optimal restoration scheme can be found by considering these tradeoffs. Our results show that, with relatively low extra capacity there is a role for dynamic wavelength assignment (WA) in restoring failed lightpaths within a limited restoration time.
