Abstract
The use of filtered measurements of photodetected signals in SOAs is shown to allow the ready development of a simple control loop able to compensate for polarisation dependent gain levels by as much as 3 dB. Further measurements, including the advantageous effect of the loop on the noise performance of the amplifier will be reported at the conference.
