Abstract :
in summary, we demonstrated that the saturation intensity and wavelength conversion efficiency of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) could be increased with an assisted beam. The conversion efficiency can be improved by larger than 5 dB when the SOA is biased at the transparent current for 23-dBm of 1480-nm assisted beam. The assisted beam can also improve the SBR by about 3 dB.
