Abstract :
This paper presents research findings about the best practices of electronic collaboration. Collaboration is working together to achieve a shared goal. Electronic collaboration was studied by interviewing people working for nine organizations located in Finland. All of the interviewed people were users of several ITC-tools. Everyone had contacts daily by a mobile phone and email. They often browsed the Internet and intranet web-pages. In addition, they frequently sent and received short messages by a mobile phone. Half of the interviewed people were used to having videoconference and teleconference meetings. The interviewed people preferred email and phone discussions for management tasks. The web-page browsing was not very popular among the managers.
