Abstract
An economic model that uses knowledge, technology and capital as prime production factors is presented and applied to one decade of the Portuguese economy. The model discriminates between technology and capital, both as assets and their respective use in the firm´s transformation process. It allows assessing the values of technology and engineering contents in any economic unit.
