Abstract :
This paper is focused on the performance of the generalized RAKE scheme when integrated into a practical W-CDMA-FDD downlink receiver. The effects of imperfect channel estimation and imperfect power estimation are simulated and analyzed. The problem of finding the G-RAKE finger delays is discussed and an efficient low complexity scheme for finger placement is presented. It is shown that although the G-RAKE is more sensitive than the RAKE to imperfect channel and power estimations, it still provides significant improvement over the RAKE receiver.
