Abstract :
In this paper, we introduce an adaptive and distributed power control algorithm (PCA) for the MMSE receiver. This PCA utilizes the mean squared error (MSE) to adjust the transmission power of a user. We also combine the proposed PCA with an existing PCA that employs signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) in order to achieve the desired performance of suitable convergence rate and stability. The proposed algorithms and the existing PCA based on SIR are compared. We show that all these algorithms are derived from standard interference functions and so they converge to the same minimum power solution. Convergence rates and stability of these adaptive PCA are also compared by computer simulations.
