Abstract
Compared with object-oriented programming, agent-oriented programming provides higher level abstraction and encapsulation. The software agents are autonomous entities with abilities to adapt the changing environments. An example of carrying out a circuit breaker maintenance work order has been used to illustrate the flexibility and advantages of agent-oriented programming.
