Title :
LV protective devices for electrical equipment
Abstract :
Every electrical installation carries with it the risk of interruption of power supply, resulting in damage to plant and loss of production. One has to analyse what dangers threaten the unit to be protected before commencing the design of the protective scheme. A typical feature of the protective scheme is that it has to be ready to operate at all times. But as long as the equipment they protect is free from trouble, they are never called upon to act. The paper intends to highlight in a broad spectrum, fault conditions prevailing in a power system, protective measures used and appropriateness in capital cost.
