Abstract
This paper describes a data accumulation system that records continuous sensor data related to human behavior. The system collects sensor data in a room and stores the data in a database via a network. The data is stored in a hierarchical table structure of raw sensor data and processed data in a time series according to a sensor module descriptor that contains information regarding the sensors and output in the sensor module. This allows any type or combination of sensors in a sensor module to be connected to the network dynamically. In addition, three network configurations are proposed for controlling network load and storage. The system is evaluated through experiments, and is shown to exhibit no more than 1% data loss and capture data that can be used effectively to reproduce or analyze human behavior. Such accumulated data will make it possible to model human behavior and customize human support systems based on long-term behavioral trends.
