Abstract
Magnetic wake patterns are used in monitoring of moving vessels. The pattern variations can be used for identification of vessel types. In this paper, patterns of multihull in general and Di-hull as the more practical vessels are investigated. It has been shown that according to the values of vessel Froude number, magnetic wake pattern can be changed considerably. They have been compared to the pattern of monohull vessels, and it is shown that for certain Froude numbers, the magnetic wake energy of the Di-hull vessels can be made smaller than that of monohull ones.
