Abstract
The paper introduces a new flat fading model based on the separation between the fading evolution frequency and the transmission rate. The model is obtained by building a first order Markov chain from samples taken at a suitable sampling frequency satisfying the Shannon theorem and an information theoretic metric. This step guarantees the adequate correlation behavior of the generated process. Then an interpolator is used to preserve the process properties and generate the fading values at the transmission rate.
