Abstract :
The paper proposes a novel multiple access scheme, which is a combination of inhibit sense multiple access (ISMA) and frequency division multiple access (FDMA). Two types of the proposed protocol are considered. They are based on FDD and TDD modes. The performance of each hybrid protocol is evaluated in terms of throughput; the comparison of the proposed schemes with the pure ISMA scheme is discussed. Two examples are constructed to show the main property of the ISMA/FDMA scheme.
