            Abstract :
With the development of optoelectronic technology and devices, the optoelectronic current transformer (OECT) is a suitable substitute for conventional electromagnetic current transformer. A novel OECT based on digital modulation has been designed for the purpose of metering. The architecture of OECT is described in detail in this paper, and a new phase-modulated method, which may considerably reduce power consumption of the sensing circuit, is put forward. Digital signal processor is used for real-time data acquisition and processing in low-voltage end. The fundamental component is analyzed. Initial experiments in the laboratory have been carried out and experimental results are obtained. The virtual instrument technique and Labview software are introduced to develop the man-machine interface for ratio error verification.
