Abstract :
A numerical test for semidefiniteness of functional matrices is developed. The testing reduces to checking simple algebraic conditions that a suitably constructed constant matrix has to satisfy. The results obtained are less restrictive than previously reported ones and may be useful in interval analysis and in robustness and stability problems. The simplicity of the test makes it very suitable for computer implementation.
