Abstract :
Contact pressures were measured in human hip joints using pressure-sensitive film to examine the effects of femoral angle on contact mechanics in greater trochanter loading. The results showed that changes in femoral abduction/adduction angle had a greater effect on the location and magnitude of the resulting contact pressures than did variations in flexion angle.
