Abstract
The problem of selecting which generating unit to perform AGC function is addressed here. The mathematical model is proposed to select the generating unit to perform AGC function in order to minimize the AGC function purchase fee. The idea to determine the MW amount and the regulating speed of the generating unit to perform AGC function in a power system by historical data is proposed also. The application to a realistic system shows that the idea and method of this paper are correct.
