Abstract
A new measurement method for transformer winding deformation is proposed based on the ultrasonic reflection principle. The basic principle for winding deformation measurement, the structure and operation principle of the device are introduced in detail, and the factors, such as oil temperature, oil passages and others, which affect the measurement accuracy of winding deformation are discussed as well. A model transformer is manufactured and the corresponding experiments for winding deformation measurement are performed with a developed prototype. Lots of measurement data indicate that the ultrasonic measurement method for winding deformation is both correct and feasible. These research works presented in this paper lay a good foundation for transformer winding deformation measurement.
