Abstract :
Many new Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) enterprise systems are planned to emerge over the next few years in support of efforts to modernize the National Airspace (NAS) for the Free Flight initiative. This paper describes activities at MITRE/CAASD, to study the communications requirements of these enterprise systems and how their introduction into the NAS might affect FAA wide area network (WAN) communications.
