  • Abstract
Assuming the voice process of each user is modeled by a two-state Markov process, the variance of the number of users who are talking during connection can be expressed and then we show the advantage of the statistical multiplexing effect based on voice activation. Compared to the conventional evaluation method, which is analyzed only by statistical average data, the new method of evaluation has the advantage that the quality of system in a certain time duration can be evaluated by computer simulation of the voice process. Besides, since each user has his or her own speaking condition, we are able to express the effects of statistical multiplexing effect and interference equalization.
