Abstract :
This paper presents a method to avoid pilot subcarriers insertion for uplink MC-CDMA system channel estimation in order to increase both spectral efficiency and power efficiency. This method, based on the channel reciprocity property, consists in using the downlink channel estimation to predistort. the signal at the mobile station before transmission in order to counteract the uplink channel degradations. Simulation results in term of bit error rate for the two operating modes are given: time division duplex (TDD) and frequency division duplex (FDD). An analysis of a radio frequency (RF) duplexer for FDD mode is presented.
