Abstract :
The complex time-domain equalization can be replaced by simple frequency-domain equalization in OFDM systems. This is one of the key advantages of the OFDM technique. On the other hand, channel noise affects the accuracy of channel estimation, deteriorating the performance of equalization. We present in the paper a novel algorithm, which is based on the well-known Walsh transform, to mitigate the noise effects in equalization. The performance of the proposed algorithm is very close to that with perfect channel estimation, while the computation required is pretty small due to the use of Walsh transform.
