Abstract
The paper presents experimental results concerning the chemical synthesis of Fe3O4 and CoFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles, as well as the stabilization/dispersion mechanisms applied to obtain strongly polar magnetic fluids on water and pentanol carriers. The colloidal stability of samples was analyzed through investigations of the magnetic and magnetorheological behaviour of samples.
