Abstract :
This paper presents a new method of corner point extraction for cellular electron microscope image to calculate the mean thickness of the cell membrane. Firstly, the cell contour is obtained from the complex background by threshold segmentation method. Secondly, an algorithm of corner point extraction is applied to extract the candidate points for every cell. Thirdly, determine the candidates with maximum curvature for every set, and then delete unsuitable set corner points under the condition of the neighbor corner point distance constraint. Experimental results show that the method can avoid the false consequence caused by the open contour and complex background.
