Abstract :
Simultaneous recording of the electroencephalogram (EEG) and video is often conducted during the evaluation of patients with seizures. This recording often lasts for several days, resulting in a tremendous amount of data. We have investigated an object based video compression method specifically tailored to epilepsy monitoring. Our data indicate that this method out-performs the conventional video compression method by a wide margin.
