Abstract :
A new kymogram synthesizer application has been developed that works with low speed video recordings of the vocal folds vibration cycle These kymograms can be synthesised from pre-recorded video files, while other programs only construct them on-line, that is, whilst recording. This feature allows different kinds of processing over the video images; correcting shifts and rotations of the vocal folds with respect to the recording device; repeating the synthesis for the same video using different positions of the extracting line or changing the number of fines extracted from each frame. The application is compatible with any video recording in AVI file format.
