Abstract
3D finite element analyses were conducted of the diseased carotid bifurcation using reconstructed models based on in vivo MRI geometries and ultrasound velocity measurements. The resulting wall shear stress (WSS) and oscillatory shear index (OSI) distributions were correlated to histological parameters involved in atherogenesis.
