Abstract :
Chaos synchronization in semiconductor laser systems is a recent hot topic in nonlinear systems because of its potential to secure optical communications. In this paper, we propose the enhancement of the modulation bandwidth of a semiconductor laser by strong optical injection from a different laser. We conduct the stability analysis for the system and show the enhancement of the modulation bandwidth. Then, we demonstrate chaos synchronization in expanded-bandwidth semiconductor lasers with optical feedback.
