Abstract :
Team performance determines levels of success and failure in meeting project commitments. Selecting team members for a project involves 1) identifying the general and specific competencies required to bring the project to a successful conclusion, 2) knowing whether those competencies are available either within or outside the organization; 3) identifying the people who possess the required level of those specific competencies, and 4) selecting team members with the appropriate competencies that can work independently yet cooperatively in meeting the project goals.
