Abstract :
Circuit-based small-signal models of the magnetic amplifier (magamp), which include the effects of the nonideal squareness of the magamp´s core B-H curve, are derived for both the voltage-reset and current-reset control techniques. Since, in this modeling approach, the small-signal behaviour of the magamp is described by equivalent circuits, circuit simulators can easily be used to facilitate the control-loop design optimization of the magamp.
