Abstract :
The paper presents a new approach to the ready-reserve (RR) capacity assessment in a power system with transmission line outages. The ready-reserve capacity distribution is assessed for a power system with respect to the minimal operating costs criterion taking into account the generation capacity, load diagram, already scheduled generators, lines overloading, as well as transmission lines outages. The proposed procedure yields optimal space distribution of the RR power using linear programming, pattern recognition technique, and the sensitivity factors.
