Abstract :
We have described three new access algorithms for use in a passive optical WDM CSMA/CA packet ling network. For each access algorithm, we have identified the traffic level below which fair allocation of the aggregate network capacity is achieved. Results demonstrate that in the practical loading regime, our low complexity access algorithms can deliver comparable throughput and fairness to those obtained when using a higher complexity access algorithm, but without incurring additional computational and operational complexities.
