  • Abstract
Plasmonic nanoparticles and graphene can be used for generating photothermal effects and for amplifying optical signals. These characteristics are being exploited for a variety of applications in biophotonics. Here we discuss some light-activated materials based on plasmonic nanoparticles and graphene that we have recently developed as viable solutions to critical issues in therapy and sensing.
