Abstract :
We review Super-Nyquist WDM techniques for ultra-long-haul high-capacity transmission. In Super-Nyquist WDM systems, optical signals are multiplexed with the frequency spacing of less than baudrate. With the help of multi-core fibers with multi-core EDFA, 140.7-Tbit/s, 7 × 326-km transmission of 201-channel 25-GHz-spaced Super-Nyquist-WDM 100-Gbit/s DP-QPSK signals has been demonstrated, achieving the capacity-distance product over 1 Exabit/s×km.
