Study of the compatibility of polypropylene films with new impregnants for capacitors

The consideration given during the last years to the protection of the environment has condemned at a more or less long term the utilization of non biodegradable products. The polychlorinated biphenyls (P.C.B) used as impregnants in power capacitors belong to this category. Some replacement solutions have been studied by industrial producers or users of P.C.B., and new impregnants have become available on the market already since several years.
