Abstract :
The development of smart buildings began to be more and more accelerated with the development of renewable-energy solutions and initiatives for energy saving in order to reduce the planet pollution. All these changes must be made without affecting the residents´ comfort and should allow to respond to the preferences of each tenant. In this paper, it is presented a distributed software architecture that allows remote monitor and control of smart buildings. This solution is based on OPC UA specifications that were originally designed to monitor and control industrial processes. These specifications were chosen by the German Government for Industry 4.0 strategy, but they begin to be used for the development of smart buildings. The proposed solution allows acquiring data from the devices connected to BACNet, Modbus and ZigBee fieldbuses.
