Abstract :
Project management is based on gathering information regarding the current status of the project execution and comparing it with the original planning. Along the project execution, the planning needs to be reviewed and further reworked. However, the quality of the decisions taken for the generation of the new schedule will depend on the image that project managers have in their minds regarding the current status of the project. On the other hand, information technologies will also increase the productivity of the scheduled tasks during execution. The Weck and Lyneis system dynamics model is then used to analyse how information systems decrease the time to finish the project, as well as the total work carried out and the overall effort expended. Finally, the perception of this improved performance increases the satisfaction of decision makers with the information system.
