Abstract :
Lentiviral vectors pseudotyped with the envelope glycoproteins of amphotropic murine leukemia virus and the G protein of vesicular stomatitis virus have been previously developed for use in human gene therapy trials. We report here the generation of infectious replication-defective HIV-1 particles pseudotyped with hemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN) and fusion (F) proteins derived from human parainfluenza virus type 3 (HPIV3). The HIV-1(HPIV3) pseudotype vectors may have unique properties that will make them useful for efficient gene transfer into a variety of human tissues for the purposes of human gene therapy.
