Abstract
A new method of processing the radar signals is presented in this paper. The method is based on the two properties of the magnitude group delay (MGD) function, namely, MGD has high resolution, and it is possible to manipulate different regions of the spectrum independently in the MGD domain. The clutter peaks are identified and suppressed in the MGD domain. The doppler spectra present very close to the suppressed clutter spectrum is clearly detected by this method. An algorithm is presented to compute the MGD for the complex signals. Monte Carlo simulation results on the clutter suppression and doppler detection in the MGD domain are presented and are compared with conventional method (3-pulse canceller + DFT combination) to test the effectiveness of the method proposed for processing the radar signals.
