Abstract
This paper presents a new algorithm for estimating the directions of arrival (DOAs) and the freqencies of multiple narrowband sources-the so-called 2-D harmonic retrieval. The algorithm is based on the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) of the signal matrix that is formed by the signal eigenvectors of covariance matrix of the received signals. The DOAs and frequencies of sources can be separately estimated in its dimension. The large computational works required in searching for 2-D frquencies from 2-D polynomial can be saved. Some simulation results are presented to illustrate the performance of the new algorithm.
