Abstract
An algorithm for extracting different regional boundaries of x-ray images is described which includes three-stage enhancement of the image in the fuzzy property plane and a smoother before the detection of edges. The property plane is extracted from the spatial domain using S and π functions and fuzzifiers. The operator \´contrast intensifier\´ is used as an enhancement tool. The final edge detection is achieved using \´
