A new approach to scan to scan correlation and its implementation

Track while scan (TWS) radars are designed for detecting and tracking multiple targets. There are three tasks to be performed: (i) Target detection and ´plot´ formation,(ii) Plot to track association and, (iii) Track updatement. The conventional approach has been to tackle each of these tasks independently. This paper outlines a method for jointly optimising all the three tasks and presents the implementation aspects.
