Abstract :
Thuraya provides a GSM-based satellite telecommunications platform. This provides roaming via GSM networks all over the world. Coverage area: Europe, North and Central Africa, the Middle East and Indian subcontinent. Modulation /spl pi//4 QPSK. Channel bit rate is 46.8 kbps. 1.8 billion expected subscribers. Describes the possibility of multiple use of Thuraya space vehicle (SV). High energy potential allows use of this SV as a regional repeater.
