Abstract :
The smart antenna has to optimize reception and radiation patterns dynamically in response to the signal environment. For this purpose smart antenna base station combines an antenna array with powerful digital signal processing unit. Therefore it needs to develop a high performance tracking algorithm for the base station. In this paper we propose a method of interchannel processing and an economic vector operations RLS tracking algorithm with linear complexity for a smart antenna base station processor. We present a comparison of computational complexity with the conventional RLS algorithm and numerical results.
