  • Abstract
    Based on an improved method for the electric bridge used for cable fault location, which was proposed earlier by two of the authors (Wang Mei and Wang Jianping, 1996), this paper is devoted to the study of multi-sensor data fusion in an intelligent system for cable fault location. The function modules of data fusion and the method of data fusion are designed in detail using Bayes estimation. In addition, the framework and layers as well as the spatio-temporal problems about data fusion are discussed. Finally, the experimental results are given, by which it is proved that, both the testing principle of the system and the design of software and hardware are correct, and the testing precision of the intelligent system is better.
