Abstract :
Fifteen years after the object promising beginning, object oriented methods are not really used in companies. Several reasons can be quoted, in particular the fact that components reuse during the analysis and design stages of application development remains difficult. The work undertaken around the Symphony method addresses this problem. Its aims are to give a user centric vision, to optimize the reuse of components during the analysis and design stages and to facilitate the applications´ evolutions. Symphony is a component based method which is drawn out of Umanis experiences. An application is seen as an assembly of independent and inter-connected components at the conceptual level and at the software level. This article stresses the components conceptual model and their relationship.
